The Career, Technical, Adult & Community Education (CTACE) technology program at Walter C. Young Middle School is proud to introduce the “KnextGen Knights.” The KnextGen Knights program offers students with an interest in technology an opportunity to take the Information & Communications Technology (ICT) Essentials sequence which prepares students for all high school careers, technical and information technology (IT) coursework and academies.
The Dual Language Program offers a school-within-school approach to second language acquisition education. The goal of the program is to provide students with the opportunity to become fully bilingual by learning, listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English and the target language. It is suggested that students start participating in the program in Kindergarten. Students who participate in the program will continue in the program at the next grade level the following year.
The Cambridge courses aim to assist students in becoming productive contributors to society. Each course makes continuous connections between the curriculum taught in class and the global and social issues surrounding us.
The Young Falcon Flyers Program bridges the transition from middle to high school in alignment with the 6-12 model. It offers middle school students the opportunity to participate in high school courses on a high school campus while still in the 8th grade.
